You should maybe take the filters you like from Adblock and import them in ublock origin, and then keep only the latter

Brave is a nice suggestion for people that aren't too much into tech as it has the main things straight out of the box

But they need to chill with their s***coin and start spending more time on general browser features and improvements

Brave is a scam avoid it at all costs. I downloaded the browser and kept getting adverts popping up in the corner

It's more s***ty than scammy tbf
Once you opt out of all their crypto garbage it becomes a fairly decent chromium build, and at least it doesn't call home as much as Opera or Edge

The only problem is that most of their crypto features come already opted in so once every 1-2 months you have to turn off some s***e

For your problem, you probably turned on their ads scheme by mistake on one of the first runs
