Drake prolific-ness a gift and curse low key? He don't make "bad" music. It's always gonna hit on some level but I wonder if it would create a different kind of output and energy / anticipation if he wasn't so generous with delivering music.
I feel like there's a nice middle ground between how visible Drake is now where people expect features on everything upcoming and the total ghosting leading to a different type of hype when he returns for someone like Kendrick. Even if the s*** was just ghosting for 2-3 years and coming out with something he been refining for a while.
This won't happen now where he's signed a half a bill record contract tbh
I love a lot of Demo Tapes but I feel like Drake didn't really need to kept people fed. Hold that work and keep the s*** like Chicago Freestyle for the album.
Won't even go into the social media visibility.
What you guys think?
No. Everywhere he goes he’s filmed an tweeted about.
His IG is stalked and talked about all day by people.
Why should he hide to make you feel better bout something nobody cares about but people that follow his every move.
Figures y’all would start this narrative today like clock work
he just needs to trim down his albums. He could have multiple classics if he didn't feel the need to pad his albums with 30+ minutes of filler
Drake said around like 2013 that it would be dope to make a concept album like kendrick but he releases music based on his current mood in life and that’s kinda what people want outta him
I just think he likes to create and put it out, it's just the way he is
Is it too generous? Yeah I guess sometimes it's not appreciated like it should be but it will be when he slows down

Already has 4

Not a narrative just a discussion.
I feel like artists even take the Drake feature for granted although it's impact crazy. Like 5 niggas got Drake feature this year already lol. It's kind of an expected feature although he delivers most time
He said some s*** like "I feel guilty for taking days off" recently and I don't feel like you should feel like that as an artist.

True.
He will be putting out some fire but there's a feeling of new Drake music always being about so it is taken for granted somewhat imo.
He played the games a little bit more he could benefit artistically and commercially. But his method has worked for him so what can you say

What’s the point if a 6 minute song no hook (LPF) performed better than a comeback 5min song with a video.
Why should he fake disappear for fake hype when it’s clear people listen to music they like more than tweets that say otherwise.
I feel your asking Drake to be fake to fit a perception when he has stated many times he would never do that unless he truly felt that way.
Plus he’s the only artist you see in the music industry you see tweets like this for… is he taken for granted… probably, but the people need him it seems. And he likes to deliver.

He's done 4 feats in 2022 and 2 were with Future

Good thing he's never done that
Maybe, I think he did a tad too many features that ended up not sticking last year. But his recent output has, with Jack and Future. Social media I would say is fine.
And in comparison to Kendrick, he's dropping an album, of course it feels like there's a ton of hype, he's a superstar. There was a ton of hype for Donda too. I don't think ghosting would help Drake.
No. Also the “hype” artists garner when they release music sparingly dies down very quickly once albums are released. If people don’t connect with the album after hearing it, no amount of “hype” will get them to go back to it. We’ve seen this happen far too often with these types of artists, you can only rely on it temporarily.
Atp Drake can do nothing and his name will still be brought up in the media every single day lol
We’ve seen it happen countless times.
the game needs drake to be visible, its normal that people cant appreciate what they have until its gone.
Being a rap superstar and going ghost will always benefit your next album release cycle. Kendrick Lamar is a great example and I can’t even begin to imagine what his first week numbers will look like.

There is plenty examples of this not being true lmao.
Drake and Wayne both did a million first week with high outputs before the albums dropped

Wayne was a prime example of that. He was flooding every mixtape site with tapes and leaks and features. Drake followed that and works perfectly.

Exactly and there is plenty of artist who go on long hiatus and come back and underperform numbers wise.
I don’t think kendrick will be one of those though. Think he’ll do big numbers
