i havent deleted mine but i dont use it any more... i post a story every few weeks and check my DMs but i dont even have the app downloaded.

social media is too much for me now, i really don't like telling all my business and having people see whats going on in my life. i also hate how everyone is either 100% happy (insta) or 100% miserable/terrible (twitter). i only use forums now

2nd paragraph is complete facts though, nowadays I’m so lazy to even post on Snapchat unless something super interesting is going on. Haven’t posted on ig in forever either

Used to get stressed over social media back in middle school but it’s ridiculous looking back. Forums are different as because of course you got good sense of anonymity

ig went all in on the social media market place idea, so for the regular person it’s probably the worst social media app. you dead can’t even make your timeline chronological, they gone force you to see whatever the hell they want lol

Even when they got rid of the chronological order, like why couldn’t they allow us an option to enable that or not? F***ing stupid if you ask me

Maybe this was their method of companies eventually creeping into the platform?

i quit using snap forever ago, i only use it to talk to one person and i wish he'd delete it so i can delete the app off of my phone lmao

yeah i hated watching my numbers to see who liked my pic who looked at my story. it feels like such a competition to be the most attractive, most interesting, most funny... i just wanna live my life.

Social Media def has a “competition” feel esp IG, it’s sad to see where it ended up. I mean it wasn’t this bad like 6 years ago

Personally, I feel Instagram has run its course. I’m not sure what age demographic you’re in but as for millennials, s***s washed. It’s mainly used to promote your own brand, business, or whatever social/political movement is catching a buzz these days. Instagram is no longer the “cool” app. It’s going through it’s “uncool” phase. I just use it for memes, and sports highlights nowadays

Gen Z has moved onto to Tiktok, IG tried to copy it (reels) but was nowhere as good. Gen Z doesn’t care about posting pics and flaunting for people they don’t even know or give a s*** about - so far, they got that part right

In some sense IG is turning into Facebook now, in the sense where mainly people are on there to be in contact with their family and market/run their business. It’s not even enjoyable to use instagram anymore, especially with how they f***ed up the app and companies raped it with ads.

Tik Tok is more in the vein of Vine, but like you said the youngsters are turning more towards that app now. For your reference I’m 22 and joined IG back in middle school, I tell you s*** has changed so much

Think it's also because most people's reach and engagement has tanked. What's the point of posting anymore when most of the people that follow you won't even see it on their feed.

Unfortunately LinkedIn is the worst
