I've noticed a lot of the same old threads of people saying "trap is boring" "hiphop needs a new wave" "everyone sounds the same"

But when a rapper does go outside the box and tries to make something new, its trashed and gets called corny because it doesn't follow the same trap formula.

So is it because the music is corny & bad or is it because its not mainstream?

I can relate with this because I'm tired of hearing trap beats on every album but who is really doing anything new and catchy? I think this is our shifting year right now and everybody is scared to do something new as they wait for the new hot thing, wether its in pop or rap. 2015 to 2016 get circle jerked but they were really years for hip hop this decade, and everyone got so used to AOTD tier s*** dropping every other month, that now that its back to great albums being rare drops and the trap sound has grown repetitive people are being dramatic.
