    meh, weeknd only became a consistently good live singer very recently imo, that 2018 Coachella performance (while not being perfect) was when he finally became consistent

    I think the more touring led him get better vocal control, but he still kinda struggles in the lower registers (Secrets, Blinding Lights kinda)

    that's completely vice versa. coachella was ok. rest of 2018 was a tragedy. he struggled to hit notes and was hoarse as f***
    i still dunno what happened to him. damaged vocal cords or something.

    fortunately he seems to be doing good this era judging by the latest tv appearances and on After Hours he sounds as good as always

    I'm not lmao, I think he's a good performer, but based on what i've seen, I find he's massively improved as a live performer, in terms of being able to consistently produce a soild live performance throughout the years;

    he's had multiple moments of great live performance like that version of In The Night that you linked or the BBC acoustic session, but also a lot of mediocre ones (that live version of Kiss Land lmao)

    What You Need / Professional 2014 clip; that vocalization he does at 3:13 didn't sound good he can pull off stuff like that easily these days, again look at the extended bridge of Party Monster from coachella 2018

    @12:50

    he doe basically the same harmonization there but he f***ing kills it

    and in terms of improved consistency and vocal control, just compare these two performances of belong to the world, the first one's from 2013 and the other from 2018; which one's better?

    2013

    2018

    his voice has much more power in the 2018 one imo

    That performance when a girl threw her bra on stage and he said “damn this s*** way too big for Bella” and threw it back to the girl. Can’t find the video
