So much detail in the oil painting used for the cd album art
This is just a tiny part zoomed in:
Unpopular take but in terms of top pop writers Ryan Tedder ain’t that bad
Thats my whole thing James Blake and structured pop songs is such a flat combination

Really?
Idk it’s a nice change of pace
You think artists that break conventions early on would like to go back to conventional once they mature
I guess that’s not true of some artists or bands, but is common
I’m optimistic

I just find it hallow and constantly relying on the same tropes of vulnerability. it feels as if the message isnt aware of its own blindspots and is sending out this pseudo-introspective message of openness to hopefully attract a wide-eyed passerby. first songs of that nature were really beautiful like meet me in the maze, dont miss it, assume form and when he's not basking in that realm he still makes magic like lullaby for my insomniac, but jeez does it get frustrating how shallow it comes off after a while

James is an exponentially better song writer since Self Titled and Overgrown.
Assume Form to this era I really enjoy the stripped back production, TCIA was sometimes overbearing. Great song

definitely prefer when people announce and drop within a week or two
Lorde and this are hurting

Strong agree. Ive def been spoiled by that. These long album rollouts are going to drive me absolutely insane
Cover hard dk why this has been the main point of discontent
Cause there's that phobia of things having lots of holes in them

I'm not particularly hyped either, but I really liked the Metro tracks on AF even if they're not classic James quality. Hope this will be similar
