Been listening to Jamie’s solo music since 2010 and I kept tabs on him in the following years, I remember when he said he wanted to put out a mixtape, of all the viable tunes he’s made in the “last six years” (since 2009)
Thought it was just going to be a lowkey release, but then all of a sudden he decided to release it as an album..

So In Waves is the first solo project in which he actually set out to make an album, in other words, he’s developed a proper vision for a full-length project.

You can sorta hear it in the singles; I feel a greater sense of cohesion here than the tracks on In Colour.

that makes so much sense. i always thought in colour wasn't cohesive, despite the songs sharing some sort of aesthetic
