Michelin star & zagat rated places are both really overrated. they tend to be "technically" impressive but they're over-expensive and not amazing unless you primarily place emphasis on expensive ingredients or preparations (with a few exceptions). the best places in my experience tend to be either completely unknown (in terms of this type of publicity) or be known locally/in food website editorials, but not by these types of lists
