Phillips is in talks to reprise his role as director for a second Joker outing (he and Scott Silver, who penned the gritty Joker screenplay, will write the follow-up), THR has learned.
I never saw it but this movie probably doesn't "need" a sequel does it?
Absolutely not, it was fine the way it ended
Todd Phillip's whole objective was defeating comic book franchises
Now he's become just another one

I mean it's not necessary but it could absolutely work if done right.
How can they continue the story without getting deep into silly comic book Joker stuff?

I mean...
As much as I'd like to see Joaquin Joker again, I don't know if we need to. That's one of the reasons Heath Joker is so special in the first place.
Also, I can see the behind the scenes getting real messy, the studio will 100% want to get more involved and that was not how Joaquin and Todd made the first one.
