this ain’t it right now chief
It’s not disrespect to Kobe. In no way. But he did once say he wanted to be better than MJ. And I hope that he knew that he was.
Kobe is #2 all time behind MJ.
He’s the greatest skilled offensive player in history bar none, had more moves in his duffel bag than any other player but MJ laid out the foundation for that therefore respect shall be given. Also, 6-6 is simply insane.
But yes, the media tried hard to erase Kobe’s legacy by spewing random stats and conversations but matter of fact is, he was the most feared player in the NBA along with Shaq (2000-2011). There’s tons and tons of stories of that.
Also cooked Lebron & Wade time & time again. Had the most unstoppable fade-away in the league, only other guy is Dirk.

Ight explain his record against lebron if this is true lol

Head to Head is extremely skewed fam. Isiah Thomas beat Jordan 24 times.
Lebron has more points than Kobe, is he also a better scorer? Y’all love running to stats but they don’t quantify every single aspect of the game. Just look at their last match-up, Kobe with shot knees and achilles was absolutely smoking Lebron. Hell he was going at Bron, Wade & Shane Battier wwho was considered an elite defender at the time with a broken nose.
As a pure basketball player, his footwork and fundamentals were simply jaw-dropping. He could make space and shift defenders from a simple hesi and jab-step. Everyone always says he stole the moves from Jordan like kids growing up didn’t dream they could fade like Mike
Jordan had the better basketball career
but Kobe won an Oscar and a Tony so he’s the better overall human

Bruh bron s*** on Kobe head to head his entire career front to back whether Kobe was old or not
We aren't just saying this cuz he passed right?
I’ve personally been saying it since I was 10. I’m 23.

Did he set the foundation or was that Dr. J? Even MJ said he got it from Dr. J. He clearly was the better shooter and skillful player though, as he done way more than Dr. J. But the overall foundation of basketball was created by Dr. J... the dunks, the moves and cross overs. All created by Dr. J. That’s why I’m arguing this.... MJ gets too much credit but Kobe doesn’t get enough.
MJ had the better team. Kobe’s career was better.
it wasn’t.
4 more MVPs
1 more title
defensive player of the year.
both had great teams and made great teams, that point is pretty irrelevant.
I like Kobe better though
it wasn’t.

Let’s be real. NBA only gave those MVP’s to Nash due to Kobe’s sexual assault case. Generations after us will scratch their heads wondering how he only got ONE MVP award whilst being the most influential player since Jordan.
Again, stats masking over reality.

On Kobe’s team? Sure.
On Kobe?

only the second one. Nash had the first one in the bag that year.
Lebron deserved the MVP about 7-8 years of the last decade if we’re talking could’ve, should’ve, would’ve’s

Yup, agree on Lebron.
Although the MVP award is the most politically motivated award in the NBA so it honestly shouldn’t have any merit. There’s so many ridiculous unwritten rules that it’s literally not even about who is most valuable.
Kobe is the best player since Jordan.

Difference is, Bulls was a super team. MJ always had more help than LJ and Kobe combined during that 6 finals win streak (wasn’t really all that great seeing it was 3 then 3 due to MJ’s retirement. Not to mention Bulls still did pretty damn good without the man.
Take MJ off the bulls and replace him with LJ or Kobe, they would have 6 straight too.
What’s amazing though, is that Kobe was to lose Shaq and still get 2 more.
Kobe mastered every move MJ had and did it better.
