Selling my car over the next couple of weeks, anyone on ktt live a car free lifestyle? I bike everywhere already and find it faster than driving
I've been a gearhead my entire life (thanks Gran Turismo and Midnight Club 3), but I'm looking forward to not paying for car insurance. Any tips? Trying to figure out grocery shopping without a car. Maybe I'll order from one of those grocery delivery services.
You live in the city or suburbia? After years of public transportation i could never see myself in anything but a car
I mean you must live in a place with decent weather that doesn’t have snow/heatwaves/rain

I live in a city that's relatively spread out, but the bicycling infrastructure is somewhat decent. Public transit sucks around here thanks to NIMBYism
Hoping to never too far out in the suburbs again though. I used to drive like an hour and a half a day just going to community college and back

SE Virginia. It doesn't get too cold, but last summer I noticed I stopped sweating as much after biking in the heat. I'd bike for 15 minutes in 90+ humid weather and barely sweat. Your body gets used to it
not allowed to drive for bipolar and it absolutely sucks ass
so many people take it for granted

Oof man sorry to hear about that 😭
Do you live in an area with public transit? Public transit infrastructure in America is unfortunately mediocre
I'm mostly trying to stop driving for $ reasons. I drive less than 5x a month for the last 8 months or so and I have to pay for insurance and maintenance
I don't have a car and live in chicago. grocery shopping isn't that bad since I'm close to multiple stores you just buy as much as you can carry. I use public transit and its only 100 for unlimited rides each month. I take uber when I need to. Its not that bad really.
Finding out about local bus transfers changed mi life
$1.75 for 2 hours and a half of unlimited bus rides

This is one of the reasons I'm considering moving to Chicago

Yea if you can deal with the winter you'll be good. I don't bike but it seems you can do it year round unless it just snowed.
Fuuuck man. I would love to make the jump if i move closer to the city in Houston. Uber and bus and cab is equal to running a car in Texas. But the city is f***ing built only for cars. It's stupid. Once i get more free reign on my job i would like to try to live that lifestyle
wtf is wrong with you op, trust me you don’t wanna use public transit dealing with crackheads
and also uber/lyft is getting pretty expensive so you might as well keep your car

If I spent less than $100 a month I'm already saving money

I can get around but it’s still not as easy as driving
I didn’t have a car for about 4 and a half months after I sold my last one. S*** was ass. Luckily I have enough vehicles at home, my girl and family to help to get around but still isn’t the same. I hated it and never wanna go back to that.
Buying my first car soon. It’s like hell not being able to go where you wanna go whenever you wanna
yeah fax ive owned a bicycle my whole life and i prefer it to cars/public transport when i can use it. idk where you're located op but you could definitely get around not being dependent on a car.
plus its good cardio
