Better scorer, better rebounder, better defender. Magic only passed better but even then Larry Legend could give you 6 assists per game.
Also Larry’s game would age gracefully in today’s game whereas Magic’s lack of a jump shot would’ve made him a less athletic brick Simmons
ya magic overrated
He was a goat for his era but I don’t think he would’ve been as good if he played today
Are you ok? What has provoked you to post lies at this hour
Must be a Detroit native or IT himself
OP.....
You are right
Not even Larry thinks this
Doesn’t matter what he thinks. Magic only did one thing better than him. That’s just the truth of it

im pretty sure most people have larry > magic tho

Doesn’t matter what the man himself thinks, okay
Bird averaged more rebounds bc he was a forward not a pg and played closer to the basket, He scored 5 more points over his career bc he averaged 6 more shots a game....and I don’t know where you getting Bird as a better defender.
But seriously using counting stats like that obscures their overall impact on the game. The way Magic played was simply transcendent

So he averaged more rebounds doesnt matter how you try to justify it
Magic was known as a below average to poor defender. The fact that you don’t know that tells me you don’t know what you’re talking about. Meanwhile Larry had multiple all defense selections.
Larry was a better shooter and could score at all three levels.
Only thing magic had over him was passing
@Palm also Larry played with Kevin Mchale and Robert parish. The whole he played closer to the basket isn’t gonna cut it because Larry was a perimeter player and acted as the point forward for that team

You saying Larry Birds game would port better and that Magic Johnson would be Ben Simmons today shows it’s you who doesn’t know what you’re talking about my guy.
You pulled the defensive thing out your ass. Neither are + defenders but they were both serviceable. Magic even lead the league in steals a couple of times. Larry was too slow to be anything other than an average defender.
The three levels thing is overrated especially in that era where nobody was taking more than 3 a game...and Magic developed a 3 point shot later on in his career. The scoring argument is dumb anyway because one was A POINT GUARD and by default took way less shots.
