vogt is a great choice
Kong Skull Island top tier MonsterVerse so I know he has a great sense of scale

Tbf Gareth Edwards was the one who really knew how to bring scale into the Monsterverse movies
but K:SI was directed by Vogt-Roberts and is the most enjoyable out of the bunch overall IIRC
this very important tbh
facts, I watched MSG, G Gundam, Gundam Wing, SEED + SEED DESTINY, Unicorn & 00 and a few others. Gundam be all over the place with tones, themes and realism

I grew up on all the MSG. but that changes characters every so often. this will be easier to do than Evangelion imo though
The more realistic and dark toned gundams>>>
Also f*** mobile G fighter or whatever that dumb s*** called.
So is it a live action adaptation of MSG: 0079? With Amuro, Char, Zabi Family etc?
I hope it’s not like Pacific Rim tbh. The mechs in that are too sluggish. I don’t necessarily care for a “real psychics” feel to the Gundam. Sure make it weighty but need it to be relatively agile and nimble.
Imma keep my expectations for this extremely low tbh. I ain’t trying to get my hopes up. MSG is one of the first if not the first anime franchise I ever watched.

I mean Pacific Rim did a good job of having decent writing and strong characters. The look was great too.
As far as the mech movement yes they're too slow
