Hmm.
Lianne predominately makes guitar-driven Folk and Alternative music and has been active since 2008. She's not in the R&B scene - though her music is Soul.
Though on her newest album, Blood, there are moments that recall the artistry and ambition of Jill Scott or Lauryn Hill, so, naturally, comparisons have led to her being described as a neo- or nu-soul artist.
But I wouldn't compare Lianne with someone like - for example - SZA or Summer Walker. I'd compare her to Paloma Faith - who she sang backing vocals for at the beginning of her career - with influence from Jazz.
I'd definitely check out her debut, Is Your Love Big Enough, because I think she's far from sounding like "all these soul/rnb singers", personally.
Sorry for the essay but I really think you - and everyone - should give her music a chance because she's so talented.

Prince cosigned her before his passing.

Listen to it more and you'll develop the ear for it.
And she's still humble.
Yep. Unlike Snoh and Zoe who can't stop babbling about it
