Has aged like absolute fine wine. Beautiful album. Amazing vocals. Frank truly gave us a gem. People talk about Blonde so much but Channel Orange is just as much a masterpiece
Can’t believe I dated someone who shamed me for listening to Frank and said he couldn’t sing. This man’s voice is heaven
Absolutely phenomenal album
10/10 in every single way possible.
I was in awe the first time I listened
pyramids >>>>>>>>
When the 2nd half comes in while you’re smacked. Like I can’t explain it with words but the transition is absolutely bliss
I enjoy it more than Blonde
Honestly I do too
I enjoy it more than Blonde
i wouldn't say i enjoy it more than blonde but i can listen to it way more since it's not as much as an emotional investment for me
when I listened to it recently I was surprised by how much it sounded like late-00s R&B. in a good way tho, it was a transition point
not to say channel orange is not an emotional investment as well but some songs while having some srs stuff going on feels detached as frank is just telling a story rather than writing about himself (super rich kids for example) so i can listen to it in a detached manner as well cause its not rlly subject matter i relate to

every sonic is perfect in that song
everything sounds f***ing silky buttery smooth
this man paints an entire picture s***'s crazy

with that being said songs like thinkin bout you and bad religion hit me like a f***ing train
His best project

Welcome to the light brother
Sierra Leone is one of his least-discussed songs but from a production standpoint, I don't think music can get smoother. It is one of the finest displays of vocal and sonic layering in recent memory. It's a 1 of 1 in his discography - seriously, hear it back and the way he peels back the layers with switching up flows, introducing chord progressions and expanding storytelling is brilliant.
