How do you not give the LV job to the Louis Vuitton Don

i get what you're saying, but in a way maybe Virgil is a better fit for what they wanna do and by hiring virgil in the big way they did I feel like they stopped some of this criticism if they'd been very late on modernising (not that the fashion world isn't still behind).

Also, for Kanye's personal story and work Adidas and the Gap is such a fire partnership him going from working at the GAP to saving the company is like something out of a movie

    Virgil way better fit

LVMH started a rihanna fashion line after going back on a deal with Yeezy let’s see how that goes

I’m actually glad tho. Cause you know a GAP line is gonna be more affordable than a LVMH line so fck it I’m letting bygones be bygones

LV and Kanye really wasn’t a fit in the first place. Besides,Ye modernizing the Gap by making futuristic basics is way cooler and makes more sense.

    This

Also more in line with him wanting to produce affordable, yet stylish clothing for the masses. Wouldn’t have been able to do that at LV

This gap move really is the first move Kanye’s ever done that has me questioning whether it’ll be a success. His clothes (although for the most part some great designs) just aren’t distinguishable. For instance, this “perfect hoodie” he’s creating for $60 bucks, is just a champion hoodie without the logo. Why would someone buy a hoodie that you can’t even distinguish that it’s Yeezy (no logo or anything) for 50% more, when you can just cop a much cheaper replica?

I think we’ll see the entire world start to wear his s*** and it won’t matter that it’s Yeezy cuz the point is that it’s awesome

If you haven’t learned from Ye’s fashion moves in the past 7 years then you’re just lost tbh

Yeezy finally being affordable somewhere AND in everyone’s local stores is an easy recipe for success. At GAP price points the clothes will fly off the shelves without a second thought. This was his main goal he’s said for years he’s wanted to be like h&m and GAP itself idk what you’re missing here

The way a hoodie fits is very important. A gildan hoodie isn't gonna fit the same as a nice quality 100% cotton. They don't look, feel or fit the same way. If kanyes really paying attention it'll be better than a champion hoodie

not to mention mowalola is the creative director, it'll be exciting to see what those two bring to the table in terms of something new and refreshing at a affordable price point

only downside i can see of the collab is the fact they had to drop the teflar collab to make this one work

I think it also had to do with change in management. They have a new CEO. plus Gap has been losing a lot of money the Ye collab is there best chance to recoup.

I thought this was going to be about them snaking him for a deal to make a Yeezy line. Pulled out at the last minute and the potential deal was why Adidas never made any more clothes

Ye is too unpredictable and erratic. Gap are in a position to take that risk, LV don't need to
