I’m definitely intrigued by this. M Night is one those directors where I get intrigued to check out his movies even tho I know it’s a HIGH possibility it’ll be completely trash.

Imma b real - Shyamalan deserves eternal slander for the cinematic abomination that was "The Last Airbender". Like gotdamn, that s*** was so trash and disrespectful it's honestly mindboggling. Literally one of the worst adaptations known to mankind.

Me and my friend talked about this when coming out of Old and loving it. It's crazy Night never gets the same leniency when it comes to making idiosyncratic/off-kilter films with it's own standards of what's "normal" that other directors like a Lanthimos get for similarly odd humor/idiosyncratic style (albeit maybe to a different effect).

Either way, M. Night's Lioned and Knock at the Cabin is gonna be amazing.

I was going to compare him to Lanthimos in terms of idiosyncratic performance styles and strange dialogue choices, but the people in this thread would just roll their eyes at it. If Shyamalan directed The Killing Of A Sacred Deer identically people would harp on the moments where characters discuss their daughters period in causal conversation or when one tells his son about the first time he started masturbating. They’d sincerely believe those were inept choices and that Shyamalan is simply a fool who doesn’t understand how off putting that comes across.

Saying Old was badly shot is wild.
