That's why it's so awful the soul of the style/genre is gone and its all tryna lean into punk and "rockstar" s***
This isn't to say black people didn't invent and can't do rock but our version of it which was soulful isn't the version modern hip Hop takes notes from
I stan Griselda and not a single one of em is mainstream
We sorta past that era now
Nothing wrong being punk just it’s now been commercialised for hip hop also
@KIN @YoungNastyShawty @internetcowboy want y'all thoughts especially
But honestly this is what happens to all genres of music
They all get gentrified by the white man and dumb it down for the masses
The only times white man really expanded on a genre is British Invasion of the 60s and punk scene and both of these times they were heavily influenced by black rock n roll
Ehh the idea that it’s not black because it’s being inspired by genres black peoples created ain’t hitting maybe because of the accessibility of the genre and the technology of the time. It’s the biggest genre on earth and is fairly easy to make...
I get where ops coming from but at the same time what about niggas like Lil Baby, Yb, Rod Wave, pop, polo g, etc
