Wall of text warning if you have a short attention span....
I guess no one read the article....but currently today’s “ethical” lab grown steaks are made from slaughtered pregnant cow blood. Essentially lab grown meat is still not 100% cruelty free.
The cruelty free alternative is to swab cheek tissue from your mouth and use expired blood donated from hospitals to create your Ribeye steak.
People often get their cheeks swabbed
for a paternity test or if you want to send a sample out for genealogical ancestry information. Doesn’t physically hurt one bit to do it.
Another thing is that old expired blood from hospitals is a big issue too. That means it can be put to use and not wasted.
You guys are only rejecting this because we live in a time period where we have no need for this, meat is still cheap. However in the future, this mass animal farm method of eating meat simply will not be sustainable forever. A massive amount of pollution goes into the slaughter industry, it strains the water supply of a lot of areas, it strains the plant side of the ecosystem because absurd amounts of non meat food has to be grown to feed these animals, not to mention the utterly disgusting conditions these animals live in before they are killed (like how they cut a pig after it’s dead to check for puss...and it’s almost always present and they will STILL process the carcass for meat even though they are to be discarded, but they can’t since a huge number of the pigs KEEP coming out like that.
