The mainstream has also powerhouse vocalists such as Katy Perry and Kesha etc so I 100% agree she’s better than most mainstream acts but that’s not really an accomplishment.

She can sing and has a strong voice vs someone like Taylor whose voice is more frail.

My main thing with Beyoncé is she’s had two collabs with singers (that I can remember) and she’s been outsung both times.

Telephone was especially disgusting how Gaga did her.

Obviously I was doing hyperbole lmao

I hate when you do this. when you don’t know how to address my points you always ignore, deflect and proceed to go on a tangent about something else. The bullshit you just type isn’t saying anything at all. You don’t even know enough about singing/vocal pedagogy or Beyoncé’s vocal abilities to even discern rather she’s good or not.. that’s why you’re limited to terms like ‘volume’, ‘strong’, ‘frail’ ..

    1. Receipts on her being outsung on a collaboration..
    2. Beyonce is a better vocalist than Gaga. Always has been. Gaga strains above C#5, has no agility, her runs are ugly ass hell, her intonation has always been terrible. can’t stay in the center of the pitch to save her life. I can go on and on.

I gotchu I promise re this.

  • I don’t think you have a good voice if it’s never contextualized right. What’s sound if it’s not pleasing?

Like jazz. It will intentionally take u somewhere dark and cacophonous. But when it’s good, it makes sense.

    I don’t think u can divorce a vocalist from what they’re vocalizing.

The only song I like from ari is 7 rings and she doesn’t sing on that at all. Most u get is sing rapping like 50.

Singing in her context is about soul, and if her vocals don’t convey that, then she can’t sing. Nothing she does sticks.

Like how Marvin has the legendary all star game performance. She doesn’t have that.

She has all the potential in the world, but if nothing sticks, then basically it never happened.

She breaks the tradition down technically, but none of it is sound.

Best example is chris vs frank.

Chris is the superior vocals and has a better falsetto.

But if u put thinking bout you up against any Chris brown record with a falsetto, thinking about you will hit harder than everything.

So who really has the better falsetto?

    Talent needs utility.

We need to collectively get out of the mindset that newer acts can’t be as great as older acts

This. There a good number of 2010s artists that are some of the greatest of all time but people act like it’s blasphemy to compare them to the greats of the past
