Listened to a podcast about Charles Manson recently and all the family’s Hollywood connections, also rewatched OUATIH

Probably will pick up Helter Skelter and Tom O’Neill’s Chaos

    Any other recommendations?

CHAOS is basically a response to the popular narrative that Helter Skelter created and goes into why Bugliosi is unreliable

Chaos kinda blows up everything else written about Manson, Jeff Guinn's book on him adds interesting personal details of his life but Chaos is all you need

Heard there are reasons to be skeptical of the narrative CHAOS tries to push, because it’s just based off circumstantial evidence and hearsay and the speculative theories generally don’t lead anywhere with no actual links to the crimes themselves

Not a Vincent guy either but I have also been interested in the topic as OP has but can’t find anything relatively neutral about it

I may try to read it anyway, because it seems quite fun, but I can’t go into it expecting a firmly-supported alternative narrative, rather dangling loose ends with the implications of cutting-edge intel agency ops in the background and running interference
