For some reason I never connected with Ex Machina even though on paper the premise ticks all the boxes for me.
wym, literally everybody o*****s over that whole movie, while all his other films stay severely underappreciated and get s*** on constantly
Ex Machina is so underrated
It's good but very overhyped movie, don't get how so many people couldn't get into his other film because that 3rd act was better than all of Ex Machina imo
He could have done so much more with the AI subject, everything felt like ''been there, done that'' and it was predictable AF
Great performances and cinematography though
Bruh why yall itt posting Interstellar, Joker & a Tarantino movie like the whole world hasn't seen all of those? To many people those moments y'all posted are already iconic solely based off popularity
This is already iconic in film circles but it should have been iconic for mainstream western audiences by now too. Posted about this film earlier today too by chance. It's a 45 minute long action sequence with no cuts to different things. F***ing classic and only Miike could have pulled it off this well
For some reason I never connected with Ex Machina even though on paper the premise ticks all the boxes for me.
Agreed
I feel like the directors peak is still writing the screenplay for 28 Days Later
He has some really cool concepts both with Ex Machina and Annhilation, but as a filmmaker he always falls short I think due to how simplistic his execution is.
