I need a formula for a column

If any values in the column are the same they get highlighted

you can do conditional formatting. just select conditional formatting in the tool bar -> highlight rules -> duplicate values

Feel the same about Word designer mode

or you can do a countif formula (but it won’t highlight by default)

you can do

=COUNTIF(Column:Range,FirstCell)

for example:

=COUNTIF(A:A,A2)

then auto fill down

the result will be a count of how many times the value in the current row appears in the range
