aside from text chat, chat rooms etc, why would someone use Discord voice/party over Xbox Live? serious question

my whole squad is PC and Xbox and we all just use the Xbox app and Xbox Live and for texting we have a group chat via Messenger since 2 of the guys arent fully into gaming and dont care for Discord

on top of that though, Xbox Game Bar is akin to Steam's ingame service but as far as i remember Discord's ingame support is bad

yeah everyone has their pc connected to their xbox live account but no one uses it for communication. Everyone uses discord due to their communities and the fact it can be used on any computer and mobile

im in university class servers, its way past gaming at this point as well

my friends use discord to trade pokemons or dev web/apps or follow crypto or to play AMOGUSSS so i do get the point of Discord but not exactly for casuals

like i said though, in my gaming group of 10-20 guys there's 6 on Xbox and 4-5 on PC and 2-3 are Nintendo or Sony only users and the rest are all over, only 1 of the PC guys is using Discord actively and he's also a Twitch streamer and eSports player, so out of 20 guys hes the 1 noncasual player and he uses Discord

we all live in the same region (southern ontario) and only the PC guys use Discord for random s***

im not saying Discord is bad lmao

but i think Sony benefits more from Discord than Microsoft would have, considering Microsoft wanted it all, it probably wouldve been integrated with XBL
