My dad was a firefighter for 25 years. Unfortunately he got cancer months before his retirement and quickly left us. I’m constantly going back into my mind and riding with him listening to this song in his all red interior Blazer. The ceiling’s interior had a dip in it and me and my sis weren’t supposed to touch it. In my head I’m 7 years old rolling down the window with the crank on the door during a hot June day as we drive to the “dinosaur park” and this song is playing…..

It was an honor to even do the same things he did. In that 8 months I got to put out 3 fires which others in my same position didn’t even get to do. Something I’ll remember for the rest of my life
