  • OK so this chain store in my country is closing down and they're having a clearance sale. Went yesterday to buy some games. Over here a new game costs about 800-1000 bucks on release, then drops in price over the years until it costs about 200-300. There were some pretty good deals, I was legit standing in the store for like 20 minutes deciding what to buy and even walked back to buy some more games after buying my first couple I still have a bit of buyer's remorse and I need you guys to settle it for me

So there was a box of games with no covers, just in CD cases. Mostly Xbox 360 and Xbox One games, even saw some Burnout Takedown and Revenge for PS2 copies Saw Deus Ex Mankind Divided for PS4 and I remember enjoying Human Revolution. Was only 50 bucks so I took it I remember some people being disappointed, is it worth playing at all?

So I came back to the store and I couldn't decide between Middle Earth Shadow of War and Monster Hunter World. They cost 250 each. Ultimately I chose Middle Earth because I think I heard Monster Hunter is a grindy game (will be playing solo), I don't know what the combat is like and I just don't have the time to spend 100s of hours on a game anymore. But I have no attachment whatsoever to LOTR, still need to watch the movies and haven't played Shadows of Mordor. I'm interested in the nemesis system but would you guys say the game would be worth buying for about 20 dollars?

I know I got good deals but my time is limited, really don't want to waste it playing mid games when I still have a massive backlog to get through. Also want to know if I should've just copped Monster Hunter World for 250 instead of Middle Earth or Death Stranding for that same price

  • 800 - 1000 for a new game?!

MH:W is incredible, and Iceborne (the expansion, 1000% recommend) adds an insane amount of content. Probably have around ~300 hours on PC and haven't done everything.

The combat is weighty, very skill-based, but can also be frustrating because it's so dependent on you learning the monsters' combat patterns and the understanding of your weapon. Think of the boss fights in Dark Souls, but instead of dealing with your regular enemies in between, all you're doing is fighting bosses. And you have to learn your combos like an action fighter/fighting game.

A big part of the game is grinding, so if you're not into that, MH:W might not be for you. But I will say that the grind is pretty fun compared to other grindy games I've played.

I know, don't have Plus though And its kinda bullshit how you have to keep paying to have access to the games, I buy physical games years before even opening them

This sounds great and most other places are selling it for 350 Might go back tomorrow and cop but my fear is that I'll just never play it. I bought AC Origins like 4 years ago for 400 bucks, its still wrapped in plastic and I saw it on sale yesterday too for 250. Just don't want to waste money like that again
