i'd like to play it, but i already know i'll probably end up dropping it for whatever reason.

its seems like a game that would need my sole focus. like if i were to try and juggle it with those 2 games, i would definitely end up neglecting it for the less grindy alternatives

yeah, i've seen there's actually a ton of grinding in this game. guess you can speed it up, but still. i'd wanna focus on this 100% and i know for a fact that i wouldn't be able to do that. have a friend who's played both the previous bravely games that's playing bravely default 2 rn, so i'm curious to see how he ends up liking this.

honestly i was already on the fence with it. I played the first one and liked it well enough until i got the part where youre supposed to do it all over again and then immediately dropped it lol ill deal with grind as long as the plot makes it worthwhile

I wasn't really into it at first either. It took a while for the combat to click for me and I wasn't at all interested in the story or characters until Balthier and Fran joined.

QoL from the Zodiac Age remaster is definitely doing a lot of heavy lifting tbh. Just being able to speed up the game 4x at any moment does WONDERS for the pacing tbh. It's still not perfect by any means but I really like the world.

Day one on that. Automata is in my top 5 and I heard that with the gameplay updates, Replicant is similarly good. Cannot wait to play it

i might just have to give it another go. think i've gotten between 5-10 hours in a couple times, but it's been a few years since i last played. will prob just buy it on sale on steam or something since the 30fps cap on console is kinda awful (even though it really doesn't matter much lol).

i think the combat is kinda similar to the xenoblade games, but this is probably a bit more passive, so that might be why i'm not loving it as much? i really like the characters, and i'm kinda interested in the story, though political/empire stories are just very "okay" to me, at best

Lack of special abilities outside of magic attacks is what kinda drags the game for me. I got about a quarter of the way through.

And yeah the combat is kinda like Xenoblade but slower. Honestly if it wasn't for the 4x speed up I would've been fed up with all the trekking and grinding
