About 10 hours into Final Fantasy IX now

Game just oozes charm in every way. The characters, story, music, locations, dialogue all feel so inspired. I really wish I could've played it as a kid tbh.

It's always funny to me that these old School RPGs from the '90s without voice acting like Chrono Trigger just run circles around most modern AAA blockbuster games narrative wise.

i like TDE ending because there's more content, but that's about it. though that extra content is pretty awful to play through tbh. then again, i don't really love any of the dungeons in that game

much prefer the "dungeon" designs in 4/4a. don't have the patience to sit through bs puzzle after puzzle like in nocturne.

Thats kinda why I wanna play another game before getting back to the other endings, loving the game but some of these dungeons are actually exhausting

i think that's fair to say lol. i appreciate the thought behind making the puzzles pretty difficult to solve, but like you said, it's just exhausting (for me at least, i know ppl live for this type of stuff). the relatively high encounter rate doesn't really help as well.

Yeah, the definitive edition has a bunch of quality of life changes, two soundtracks, a full 16 bit mode and a lot more
