I'ma make a short film channel. If anyone itt tryna get some more exposure or see overall feedback you can post on that channel just let me know of course.
What kind of videos do you make op? I haven’t done much video editing / filming since college but there was one project we did that I was pretty proud of

I Haven't really tried the short film route yet.
But Right now I do basic videos.
Like reacting to stuff.
Nothing to fancy.
I do get fancy with it tho when it comes to post edits.
I love to edit videos and color grade.
I wanna be able to get good at that. To get that beautiful film look.
What type of project did you do in college?
I do plan to make a type of storyline soon tho.
Just sucks cuz I gotta do everything by myself lol. I wish I had a clone
I have better videos but this is my most recent attempt:
I went to school for journalism but I'm primarily a writer. I've been learning to do everything by myself and went to record live music.
I plan on buying a newer DSLR soon. I invested in better audio equipment recently and had three different mic setups for this live event but the music was still too loud for that first interview fml.

It was a prompt based short film project, ours was on agoraphobia, some s*** like that. We kind of came up with ideas on the spot as we went, it worked out in the end though, there was a crowd of students outside the library for some fair thing so we used that to our advantage. Editing and thinking about camera work/shot composition was really fun though
Rented a XT-3 for a photo job a couple weeks ago and f***ed with the video stuff for fun
need to grab now and get back in the game

Nice vid fam!
Camera you used was good too
What type of audio equipment are you going to use for next time that will reduce background noise?

How'd the photo job go?
Also if you ballin ballin the sonya7IV just came out. Pretty much gonna be the top camera for like 5+ years.
I'm hoping to upgrade cameras soon to maybe the a6400 or a camera with S-logs

I fell in love with the Fuji color science that F-Log was hitting too
I know Sony's top of the class but their lens selection is relatively limited and OD expensive (not tryna get into all that lens adapter s*** either 😂). I was thinking about getting a Black Magic 6k for video work but literally everyone I know who got one ended up selling it lol
And the job went fine. Clients were d***heads but I got paid so

Thanks.
I'm not too terribly happy with my camera's performance here tho. I was using a decent prime lens but there was still noise in the raw footage, even though it's supposed to perform in low light.
I love my camera for photography but for video it leaves a lot to be desired. I'm going to upgrade my Nikon D5100 to a D7500 soon.
As for audio, it's a good question. I've heard good things about the Rode Mic Pro+ to shoot concerts since you control the audio settings to -10db.
I just bought a H4N ZOOM though. I tried putting a limiter on it but maybe the recording volume was too high. I also just found out that there was a limiter setting hat as specific to concerts. Maybe. I should try that.
Really though, my next investment in equipment will probably be a portable ring light to take with me. I had several lighting issues shooting this and had to add light in post as well as fix the audio.

Also Why did everyone sell the black magic 6k? and what camera did they switch to?
Thanks.

yea noise in the videos is mad irritating.
i used to just have my s*** on auto
but now i use manual
and adjust the shutter speed, iso, aperture. to get it as amazing as i can. and then obv adjust the settings once im in a diff scenario.
also i don't recommend doing auto white balance cuz ittl be changing the colors alot and s***. which is annoying af if you tryna color grade in post.
And yea a ring light is a great investment for real.
i have one, and its highkey better than my light umbrellas i have.
you can also adjust the colors too and brightness lvl. so that's always good.

Definitely shoot in Manual when you can. It's always better to have more control over the camera.
The only exception to this would be in photography when your quickly moving between different kinds of light (use Shutterspeed priority over Auto) like in street photography since you want to snap quick candids sometimes.
Believe me, I learned my lesson with white balance in video a long time ago.
I'ma drop a short short vid soon.
On one of the ideas I had.
Just gotta finish color grading it.
And doing the sound effects and etc.
I also wanna make a discord for dedicated creatives.
Cuz it seems ktt doesn't have one.
And the threads here die quickly
