OME is a good artist but i'll never look at him the same way when he got insanely mad and started insulting people and starting drama when someone said he wasn't an underground artist. like my guy, you've been covered in the new york times and rolling stone on the front pages...you've had placements on Comedy Central and Adult Swim during prime time hours...

he's definitely got a tumblr or reddit like personality that can be offputting and comes across in his music sometimes
that being said, I'd still consider him an underground rapper because he gets no radio play or mainstream love in the hip hop community

I like the guy's music and he's a very talented artist but he can be very pretentious on social media and it's off-putting knowing that gap between his persona and themes in his music. Milo is another artist i think of similarly in that regard

yea milo fits that mold too, as much as I respect and enjoy a lot of his music. "look how weird and smart I am" rap or something. I'd say an exception to that pretentiousness who kinda moves in the same lane is Quelle Chris, who is probably my favorite of those 3
what y'all think
idk, after my first listen I wasn't feeling it much. not sure if it's too personal or I'm not able to relate to it or something but none of the subject matter really interests me. the production is pretty good, but I prefer the beats he used on his last albums. also pretty short, and I was only really feeling like 4-5 songs
I'd rank his last albums like
dark comedy > brick body > hella personal film fest > anime, trauma, divorce
it's not a first listen classic, that's for sure
i didn't even appreciate Headass (Idiot Shinji) and The Black Mirror Episode at first
