Big part of blowing in a lot of cases is fans connecting to you as a personality. Ain't it crazy not one OVO artist has ever really done that?

I can't think of any that really do much to show they want to so it's kind of by design based on their preference. Can't blame the label because you can't force that stuff. Just interesting.

Would be dope for OVO to sign a female artist who builds with her fans like an Ari Lennox or some s***.

in general labels can force artists to do press, etc., but ovo deliberately chooses not to which I believe the artists have said they enjoy

I think it’s an OVO thing. And honestly that sounds great. You get to be yourself and not force yourself to do press, while still making a ton of money and doing what you love. Especially since I bet OVO artists ghost write, produce, or share demos, so they can make good money on the side.

I remember PND saying he wants to be more open to his fans fans, eventually did a few twitch streams, told a couple noncoherent stories, but I haven't seen much of him since

I think they purposely sign people that don’t really care about anything other than the music.
