That was like the last crop of newer artists/era they really f***ed with, then they started trailing off after that, for the most part.
Im from the bayrea too. Family all over Oakland, Vallejo, San Francisco etc. So classic West artists with newer albums were being played by them too a few years after 2005ish. Such as E40 My Ghetto Report Card, 2000s Ice Cube n the 2Pac after death albums that were still coming out heavy n poppin etc.
My parents still listen to Rap, mainly that era n prior, but every once in a while they listen to a few songs that are newer.
My older brother is what put me onto other s*** like 3 6 Mafia Most known Unknown, Hyphy era n Lil wayne Carter 2 etc. since that was now his era.

My Dad liked the early-mid 2000s T.I type wave with Paper Trail and Ludicrous
My parents music tastes in terms of rap music was always old s*** from the 80s and 90s and that definitely influenced my tastes today (NWA, Rakim, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, etc.)
My sister really likes Kendrick and Odd Future and A$AP, sheās more similar to the siteās tastes than I, I guess
She came up around the

My mom is an rnb purist so she don't f*** with that tbh. Temptations, Kool & Gang, MJ, Janet... All of that. Dad was more or less the same. They both liked Pac tho, probably due to his actions outside of music I assume

My dad is into Kendrick, Cole, Old School Kanye as of late and has a disdain towards āmumble rapā. he always says he doesnāt know what theyāre saying but I think itās just the lingo going over his head

My dad died in 2009. He was into the classics mostly. Liked Nelly and Jay's Black Album though
Dad is into older rap. My mom mostly likes crossover hits like Hypnotize, Can't Touch This, Getting Jiggy With It, and Gangsta' Paradise even though she'll claim to be a Pac fan(but she doesn't even know his music like that.)
Oh yeah and my mom is always singing that Flo Rida Low song doing chores lmao. Don't think she could name a rapper after like 2005
My parents loved young money, pusha T, ol dirty b******, OutKast, Kendrick Lamar, and 3 6 maifia the most.
My step dad put me on a lot of Houston rap growing up so that pretty much shaped my entire music taste . He ended up meeting a lot of them too like Slim Thug , Zro n a couple others
My mom 53 and she loved GKMC
Round the time it dropped she came and told me that she heard it while she was on a trip in LA and she was blown away (she was in her early 40s at the time)
