Anybody write prose / poetry?

I find it's really cathartic to try and spin things in my personal life into some sort of poetic meaning (or lack thereof). In a way it's like self-validation.

If you haven't given a shot I encourage it! It's helped my mental health a lot over the years.

To be clear I wanted to differentiate this from creative because I think its important that its more personal / not something most of us push as part of our identities irl.

Here's one I just wrote.

misplaced love
inundated with letters of regret
incorrigible
—a piercing desperation
your frayed smile.
a tenderness you cannot give.
a silent emotionality
a silence we don't address
lest I lose you to myself again
and again
and again
your message bears repeating

my d*** is so hard
goddamn, i need to bust now
f*** i am c*******
a haiku

the lies told by the government would make pinocchio’s nose longer than the ears on an elf
jeffery epstein obviously did not kill himself

Yeah I do. It’s just so fulfilling and fascinating using language in a way you wouldn’t necessarily use in everyday speaking

Been working on a screenplay but want to figure out how to sell it
I kind of don’t want to spend so much time working on something that won’t get me a bag so I dunno what to do at this point :sarc:

i want to write but my writing is s***ty and i feel it would come out as cheesy

there are some contest that are held annually that accept essays and s*** and screenplays as well.

you can try pitching your screenplay in those contest and see what happens

The feeling arises
Stemming from boredom or attraction
Perhaps deviance
Solitary, reflections of regret gawk at decisions made on a whim
Perhaps it’s the terror of ceaseless mundanity
Hands once shut, now slowly extend
Marvelous for soothing oneself
Who knows better the body than you ?
Though there’s a fragment missing
Another’s affection

Only way to get past that is to write through that phase till you like it

get a NDA.
work on a solid ass elevator pitch.
go to a studio(s) you fw (research your local studios).
wait in the lobby til someone of importance talks to you and pitch em. If they seem to fw the pitch let em know you got drafted script ready to go
