My Zelda 1 review
Not too much to say about this one. The biggest issue with it for me is the fact it’s so guide heavy, and they did it on purpose too just to sell more Nintendo Powers. You stuck on a level? Get the power! NINTENDO POWER. You’re not gonna get through the game just blindly exploring like BOTW as there’s no s*** like indications of what walls you’re supposed to bomb or what bush to burn, so if you actually want to have fun with the game, then use a guide. There’s no shame. However even then, constantly looking at my phone and up at the screen gets tiring after awhile. I know it’s one of those Zelda’s that people skip over, so a remake fixing all of those problems is needed since it’s objectively aged terribly the way it functions. Another thing, the bosses are easy as s*** but they appear again as mini bosses later on so I think it’s fine, plus all bosses back then weren’t lengthy or hard as s***. But I think there’s still some good in this game. Just hard to really get into. It still filled me with the same excitement I get from the games that came after, so I gotta give it a hard 7 to very light 8 on this one. Tran
