I feel like multiplayer been kinda weak this gen, there's a lot of hand holding from developers or I just lose interest quicker. Like I think back to last gen and I had way more fun and put way more hours into those games. So I ask myself what the difference is, and those games was just more fun

Multiplayer this gen was absolute trash.

Last gen had classics like Halo 3, COD4/MW2 & BO1/2, Team Fortress 2, Gears, GTA IV, Uncharted 2, and among others.

Last gen, but that could just be me getting older and losing interest in multiplayer games and the awful attitudes a lot of people have online. The charm is lost.

Last gen. But then again I had friends who got on all the time. This gen is when all my friends and I had to start growing up. Nobody really plays anymore

Last gen wins because PSN was free.

Days of MW2, Black Ops, Fat Princess, Uncharted 2 online were fire.

If we add local multiplayer into the mix- Mario Kart 8/Wii, Super Smash Bros 4/Brawl, Nintendoland, Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero 3/4 Halo 3, Gears 2, and many more were all flames.

Last gen wins by a mile.

Even Nintendo who normally excels at local multiplayer has been lackluster this gen with a disappointing Mario Party, trash multiplayer implement in Odyssey, no fun game like Nintendoland, poorly designed Mario Party, a trash Mario Tennis and more. Smash Ultimate sucks online but it’s really the only game I’d even recommend for local multiplayer outside of ports.

The only thing this gen really has going for it, in my opinion, is Rocket League.

The only good multiplayer that wasn’t a port on the Switch and made by Nintendo is Luigi’s Mansion 3 implemented multiplayer.

nintendo could have great online multiplayer but they just refuse to get with the times

the fact that i can’t hop onto mario party in 2020 and get into an online game with three strangers is atrocious
