man the beginning was pretty boring but this really got so good
the fight scenes were great
I've never complained about girlbosses before but peak Arnold barely escaped one of these guys by the skin of his teeth same with the ultimate girlboss Ripley at the end of the Aliens. Gotta make the struggle more believable.
When the predator came out of the mud in the exact perfect spot where the laser helmet was aimed c'mon man
I feel like this Predator was a complete amateur
Did you see how many times this nigga bled throughout the movie?
They were pretty economical with the violence which was great. At times the movie felt like watching some gameplay from Horizon Zero Dawn
Technically Disney was contractually obligated to release it on Hulu instead of a theatrical release like it was originally supposed to, with it being a Fox movie before the merger went down and all
Blessing for them cause this totally would have bombed in theaters. Hulu gives it way more exposure and itll probabiy get a sequel now.
Only thing I didn't like was when someone got offed main girl was just like "😐 oh iight" like emote b\*\*\*\* your friend just got domed and cut in half
Gonna make time for this and predator 2 this week. I’m ignoring the 2018 movie.
Already seen AVP, and Requiem is pretty much unwatchable.
Overall, Alien franchise has just been blessed with some more effort and thought put into those films

They jumped her ass earlier to be fair

Alien franchise had Ridley Scott and James Cameron David Fincher too but the studio f***ed with his movie and I think he hates it
The only Predator movie that's in the same league is the original
To be honest, I thought the presentation was really good - good visuals, good lead, and the predator looked awesome. but ultimately I think the writing let the rest of the film down.
Feel like there is a way better movie in here somewhere. Whole film should have been in Comanche. More focus on Naru's character development. More exploration of the relationship w/ her brother. Implement better tension.
Surface level storytelling, but the atmosphere, direction, and action choreography were all on point.
Yes! Exactly. The early portion of the film should have been more about Naru and her culture. They could have introduced a strategical mentality on Naru's part right then (this doesn't even need to be done in a hunting context, in fact, it even works better if it isn't). They kinda tried to establish that much later in the movie when she was telling her brother the beaver story. But don't tell us, SHOW us. Things like that come across to me as lazy writing.
Last movie I watched like 3 times in a row was the batman. This one also deserves a rewatch
