I trust Trachtenberg more than i trusted Shane Black with a Predator film because i feel like Trachtenberg has the better qualities to make a genre film like this

Also, Playtest was such a cool episode for Black Mirror, underrated imo

i mean shane black has way more action experience and overall experience than dan trachtenberg has

im pretty sure it was the studio that f***ed it up

However, they came accompanied by rumors the studio and director had clashed over the story and tone, withmajor aspects of the film had been removed entirely. It slowly emerged that this wasn't a case of fixing up the movie, but about retroactively changing it.

Not saying Shane Black was the reason The Predator flopped, just that i think Trachtenberg is more fit to do genre films

Sure most Predator films lean towards action but inherently it's a sci-fi based franchise and i really feel like Dan will be able to do something cool with it.

I hope so at least, cause most of the films have flopped, would rather have another Alien universe film at the moment. Ridley Scott still needs to finish his prequel trilogy that he set up with Prometheus

Gonna be sad when he drops out inevitably

I'm still mad that backlash towards Prometheus caused Ridley Scott to introduce the Xenos earlier than he seemed to have wanted.

it’s close imo but yeah Alien franchise is better

I hate Aliens but Alien is the best movie between both franchises.

I also love Alien Covenant but those 2 only ones I love.

With Predator, first is amazing, 2nd is hard and while predators is mid, I’d still rather watch that over Aliens and Alien 3

When I watched triple frontier I was thinking damn this could be a fire premise for a new predator

I love Aliens as an action film, but not as a sequel to Alien

Prometheus first half is great but then it becomes so generic

Covenant saves the action heavy formula for only the last 20-25 minutes allowing for a far more interesting film

But the return of the Xenomorph was a big yikes fest in covenant

Also they didnt explore all those interesting questions that were raised in Prometheus

If anything Covenant was the generic version of Prometheus

Prometheus went in such a fresh direction while also staying true to what we’ve seen in the Alien universe

Hopefully Ridley Scott will be able to make the 3rd film just to get some closure. I just personally LOVE the philosophical direction Prometheus went in

I mean Covenant did address many of those questions and did it in a far more creepy way than even Prometheus implied. That entire graveyard city arc in Covenant is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen in a sci fi movie.

And I still prefer the Xenomorph stuff to Charlize Theron running in a straight line to try to escape a rolling ship crashing on her. That entire 2nd half of Prometheus features some of the dumbest s*** I've ever seen.

Atleast with Covenant, we establish that most of these people are not trained experts and it becomes a black comedy for most of it.

I never got why ppl gave the Prometheus crew being dumb so much flack when its heavily implied that Weylands daughter deliberately hand picked incompetent people because she didn’t approve of the mission lol

But yeah, Prometheus to me was just a breath of fresh air for the franchise, i did enjoy Covenant to a certain extent but it felt like a lesser version of Prometheus mainly because Scott seemed to abandon the Engineer storyline which was the main part of Prometheus

I hate how he put in the Xeno because of crying fans, im all for the Xeno on the big screen but i want it to scare me. And the CGI Xeno didn’t do that at all.

The octopus creature in Prometheus though, now that s*** was scary af and gave me flashbacks to the first Alien film with the Chestburster whewww

Be as good as the first and Predators or better please.

It represents everything I hate about Hollywood today from its extremely formulaic “badass” characters making cringe quip humor to its extremely safe and boring formulaic plot progression to its extremely try hard attempt to force in an emotional core that has no business being there

The marine characters are actually likable and their humor comes across as natural. The emotional aspects also come across as genuine (ripley+newt especially). And ripley IS a badass. Also, not to mention the visuals, the atmosphere, the pacing, the practical effects, etc.

Imagine saying u hate Aliens but love Convenant, a legit mediocre movie filled with flat 2d characters and nonsensical plotholes

All you gotta do is make a decent film like the og or maybe the second one. They complicate themselves with this convoluted plots and s***.
