I was just thinking the other day man it would be cool if HBO Max and AEW did something
That’s the o my way they’re gonna potentially grow their user base. WWE was stuck at 2 million around Mania time and then back down to 1.5 million after.

Yeah most people putting Netflix/Disney+/HBO Max over a vintage wrestling library not surprising
That 24 hour new channel they brought up is interesting though

can keep the Network...gain Peacock content...for half the price I'm paying for the Network currently?...oh hell yeah
I think them choosing peacock is a dumb move but who cares I still ain’t buying that s***. I need AEW on Max like last year tho

They slipped in that the 4.99 tier is gon have ads
Which is fascinating to me that this the first streaming service with ads to my knowledge tho
Network on Peacock isn’t a bad idea, I just hope Peacock gets some better content to make me getting Peacock worth it in general not even talking about WWE.
Also this way I’m not directly giving money to WWE
AEW on HBO Max is looking more likely now

Hulu's cheaper option has ads...even Prime Video throws in occasional ads between episodes
right now the Network already has annoying ads before you try to watch any video (if you're watching on a smart TV those ads tend to lag as well which is a pain in the ass)...basically the option now is paying half the 9.99 it currently costs for the Network and still getting ads AND Peacock or pay what you're already paying and get the Network without ads and Peacock

honestly if you're just paying the same of half what you paying already for the Network then Peacock is just an extra thing added on and I could care less what kinda content they have...I would think they're gonna step it up in that regard too though
On top of AEW back catalog on Max I wanna see them do an original program
Maybe some s*** where it’s all story building and interviews or some s*** idek

exactly...AEW and their talent have already proven they're great at that sorta s*** (BTE and Sammy's vlogs are basically sketch comedy shows...do something similar with a budget and that s*** could take off as more than just a fun youtube series)...I suppose one of the issues is those guys wanting to preserve the rights to that content so if they left AEW they could take those shows with them which is why there isn't more crossover right now but doesn't mean AEW couldn't start up their own version of those kinda shows either
What the hell is peacock? Lol
I knew the network was struggling, but I love it for the old content.

NBC's streaming service...you'd still get old content with this...only difference is now you can optionally pay a lower price for what you already have PLUS Peacock content or pay what you're currently paying and not have to worry about the pain in the ass ads WWE Network has added recently and still get Peacock content

Is it confirmed they're going to carry everything the original WWE Network had? Gonna be pissed if they remove or edit the archived stuff. I'm in the middle of a 1997 watch rn

AEW buying Impact and rebranding Impact Plus

far as I know nothing is getting removed and it'll feature everything the Network has now plus more (documentaries on the regular?)

So no editing out the edgy stuff? ECW is already edited out the ass on the Network with the music dubs
So the Network plus all PPV’s is $4.99 with ads and Peacock content(whatever that is)and the regular $9.99 without ads?

Correct. Not a bad deal for people who already have the Network as long as they leave the content alone

not bad, this is gonna get a lot of people to tune in to WM who don’t give af about wrestling. This also proves WWE have no draws to sell the product on its own anymore cause I’m pretty sure ESPN & UFC made around $100 million plus on UFC 257. That’s most likely one whole year of the Network’s revenue.
Their really clinging on hard to contracts nowadays.

I hope not and I feel you there...the old WCW footage is also tainted with some music being taken out and also seems like the crowd was piped down and not as loud as I remember old clips on youtube being so idk if they messed with that too or what
I mainly watch the Network for old content and occasionally documentaries or new PPV's if they're worth it (Takeovers mostly anymore) so yeah if this new deal doesn't include all the old stuff I'd prly still keep it around for that lower price but would be pissed the f*** off for sure

Whole point of the Network imo is the ability to watch older stuff imo. So that would be a deal breaker for a lot of people I think.

No Hogan coming out to Voodoo Child
1998 Jericho coming out to Break the Walls Down
Generic G-Funk instead of Natural Born Killaz for New Jack matches

to be fair there's a few where Voodoo Child intro is still intact lol like they haven't gotten around to all the episodes and PPV's yet but yeah I cringe at Break the Walls Down playing that early

I really do hope this makes TNT/Warner hit the switch on AEW going to HBO Max and with it some added content...a sketch show like BTE, a goofy late night talk show (along the lines of their Unrestricted podcast...would be a nice platform for Dark too especially if they end up doing multiple Dark episodes a week which sounds like may be the plan
