the thing that kills cinematic matches for me is background music lol and it's not just a WWE thing...AEW did it with the Hardy/Guevara Deletion s*** and that Darby/Sting vs Cage/Starks match...takes me out of it completely and makes me feel like I'm watching some weird B movie fight scene...there's some cool stuff that can be done with the concept for sure just feel like they go too over the top with it often which makes it dumb

I wanna see a live cinematic match, someone has to take the next step and make one live

another reason I loved that Bray match. It wasn't like a b movie or wrestling with a soundtrack. It was like an extended wrestling promo.
I agree to an extent but cinematic matches are here to stay imo, especially in wrestling wants to really do something new. I feel like post-pandemic wrestling can throw in a cinematic match every now and then to keep things fresh
How do you feel they will play out with an actual live crowd in the arena watching a potential 15-20 minute cinematic match in the arena?
I feel like they translated really well in the pandemic because we were all at home, but I wonder if they are here to stay considering Vince and co. will have the live crowd in mind too

I feel like a balance between having segments in the ring and having moments backstage projected on the screen like the old hardcore matches could solve this problem

That Cole vs Velveteen one was the worst one ever

They tried doing that with the house of horrors match in 2017
It wasn't great because I don't think they really got the hang of it, but after last year I think they can pull it off properly

I don’t think so because promoters/companies have to think about the fact that their producing a live show in front of a live audience. Cinematic matches were cool cause why not, there’s no crowd but now we have a crowd. A lot of wrestling’s magic comes from it being live, they’ll be focusing on WWE Studio movies soon when the pandemic keeps slowing.
Was Mania good? Lowkey slipped my mind.
Seth vs Cesaro, Bad Bunny, Sasha vs Bianca matches were good

Gonna peep those then. Did Lashley win?

That's my suspicion too, but the ones WWE did last year were so good I don't want that to be a one off

Like I said,I wanna see one done live using a set

Possibly
I also think there was a generally positive response to cinematic matches and folks thought they were refreshing, at least the best ones. They did well with certain metrics. Maybe you don't throw them on at Mania but in a B level PPV, why not?

What Nute said, but I also think Lashley and Drew was good

I think WWE got something up their sleeve with the Fiend/Orton match tomorrow
who won?

Good show. Logical booking throughout. Lashley/Drew, Cesaro/Seth, Bunny and Priest vs M&M and Sasha vs Bianca were the standout matches

maybe, there might be a cinematic element or two thrown in there even if it gets called in the middle of the ting
Would rather Sasha have won but I’m just glad they got to main event because the fans are interested in them and it’s the better story. Should I watch this? Missed it due to work. Word of mouth was this was a good night even tho a lack luster build and card
