The US government can f*** u up way worse than a foreign one if u live there you schizo
Didnt u get banned for saying stupid s*** about China too?
god forbid we upset the Chinese government
Been known. KTTs my only social media, besides Facebook for the sole purpose of keeping up with family in the motherland
"Boonk gang" was ONE person, that bullshit never got national attention. This is just straight up delinquency. It's even more stupid because these kids are dumb enough to FILM themselves and post it, they are self-snitching.
Look, you can cape for tiktok all you want. I'll admit that the platform itself is fine, in fact the whole app is designed really well. There's no arguing that. But the content/influence it has on our society is truly just evil. Also, the fact that it's publically noted to be owned by China and steals your data is a threat.
You back??
really funny how ever since instagram stories most social media companies have just blantantly stolen from eachother & tried really hard to have almost an exact copy of whatever feature is most popular at the time
ex. instagram reels
youtube shorts
s***s annoying
ig don't need to become tiktok

I mean you still can't downplay the privacy threat all aspirational hegemonies play to data security of working-class individuals (the proletariat)
china and america are both infamous for their respective privacy-breaking monitoring programs and both states have deep ties to tech companies in regards to that
wechat aka weixin is heavily monitored by the state, same with weibo, billibilli and douyin (aka tiktok)
state-mandated repression for wrongthink happens on these platforms, and its not really due to TOS in the "private company" sense, it's due to the state itself not wanting that material on their platform
you can't talk about certain things, most infamously the worker-led uprisings against the state in the late 80s (Tiananmen Square)
there is also a strong contingency of nationalism on these platforms, specifically when there is something said about the controversial practices in Xinjiang, it's kinda like America where you indoctrinate people into the state propaganda from birth, culminating in patriotism and such, some americans calling snowden a traitor
also criticizing the chinese state does not equal "sinophobia", i don't equate any states to the people living under them, it's just the circumstances you're molded by
Facebook knows this and they don't care. Imagine if they hadn't received so much pushback on that Instagram for Kids thing they were working on?
S*** should be banned, apparently they have a trend now of kids who are literally filming themselves destroying school property
"The lick" tiktok, look it up. It's been on the news.
BRO that is legit some of the stupidest s*** I have ever seen
same recycled research articles
and yall continue to ignore and protect everything wrong about social media
Literally social media challenges is proof of the mental illness that is created by social media.
We f***ing had people eating Tide Pods....
Way more toxic, larger user base, etc. Some of the movements that come from tik tok are some real sad and or harmful s***. Any negatives they find from IG i bet that s*** is multiplied for Tik tok. and im not even a hater of the platform.
People be posting their most harmful and dark secrets for 2 mins of social clout
Like privacy doesn't exist for a lot of people online.
Even some threads on this site scare me.
Idk how you can look at skyrocketing youth suicide rates and the ever increasing body of research that shows that these SM corporations purposely create products as addictive and manipulative as possible to increase the attention economy and set these children up for a life of never feeling good enough, which ripens them as tho they're nothing more than fruit to be squeezed by advertisers, coerced into buying as many things as possible that will never bring them the happiness they've been missing their entire life.
A happy person doesn't need to work hard, doesn't need to buy luxuries, and is therefore a threat to the very existence of society.
Next time you're feeling some negative emotions specifically if they contain a comparison, or you feel lacking in some area, and ask yourself if someone could be profiting off them. Might be surprised.
I think as humans we need to evaluate our relationship with all forms of social media
But let’s be clear, this isn’t just restricted to traditional social media
You see this here too and outside of technology
Human beings
Will always try to find some form
Or validation from others, and they always have
It is human nature
It is just that technology
Has made it to where these forms of quick validation, depression, missing out syndrome and addiction
Are ever present and right in our hands, which is dangerous

This is what I have been working on with my workaholism that formed from 2020 and everyone pushing someone to be productive at home. It's affected my mental health, and I'm starting to find balance in what is work and what is for my enjoyment.
There would be times where I would hate myself for not making something earlier this year. I unironically fell into the #grindset side of social media

Youtube shorts are so bad

apparently they're still working on it
I got banned for a joke saying Daby was brainwashed by China. Not really seeing why you're caping for them. It was not an insulting joke.
And the country that runs an app having your data is more concerning to me than Zuckerberg or whatever.
Besides that though, personally I don't even use social media. But I will say the stuff on tiktok is definitely concerning. I think people cap for it way too hard.
Welcome back, didn’t know you were unbanned
I f*** with KTT, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
I post on KTT the most, I use Instagram and LinkedIn for business, and I use Twitter for news... I never really tweet, just read stuff there
But I've also taken steps to make sure my social media sites are positive towards me and not wasteful or harmful.
Humans were never supposed to have this much instant gratification
Also see this many opinions
F***s with your mind unconsciously
Here’s an example: if you are a kid that cuts your wrists and see a tweet about cutting your wrists (or insta or tiktok) that’s been shared 10k times you might feel as if you’re not doing anything wrong. Because others are doing the same thing (allegedly and probably not///massive amounts of trolling on SM). Some people can’t differentiate jokes from reality.
Group thinking is at an all time high
