this is just something small i noticed but, it's interesting and kinda funny to look back to everyone saying that the 2016 election results would help bring back a punk revival. when not only was it not the case, but literally the first post-Trump year has the best year for punk in a long ass while:
those are some of the tracks i liked but feel free to post more itt
Real punk music doesn’t exist much anymore. There are some punk influenced groups around tho

yeah you’re right, that avenue has sorta shifted into different genres over the years. idk what the current day equivalent to punk would be, probably isn’t hip hop tho
i love that the whole skate punk sound is coming back though
Turnstile record’s growing on me. It sounds like Fugazi, P.O.D., Bad Brains, Jane’s Addiction, Crown of Thornz, At the Drive-In, Quicksand, Deftones and Helmet all rolled up into one catchy album.
Anyone who really f***s with Glow On who hasn’t heard the most recent Glassjaw album should check it out
Idles is kinda a weird one because they're definitely in that punk sphere but it doesn't feel like punk. I guess it makes sense to call it post-punk

Idk is there not a pretty decent DIY scene in plenty of places in the US in particular
The most traditionally punk release I’ve enjoyed this year is probably the Tørsö 7”, Home Wrecked
Everything else rock for me has either been on the softer side (John Sharkey III, Iceage) or the weirder side (USA/Mexico, Hypnotizing Chickens). What I’ve heard of the new Amyl and The Sniffers record was cool, though.
My favorite rock records of 2020 were the Moor Jewelry album, Lamps’ People with Faces
and Hunger for a Way Out by Sweeping Promises
