I love that it didn't rely on Shrek nostalgia, and doesn't try and insert random Shrek references .
It stands on it's own as a really good standalone story
But it still manages to tease a potential Shrek 5 film

It didn’t rely on them but it definitely did insert random Shrek references lol…kept catching me off guard like Gingy and Pinocchio popping up outta nowhere
but I loved the references and love this movie

O yea you are right lmaooo

Death is one of the most furry bait characters I’ve seen in recent memory
When they had him lick his lips they f***ing knew what they were doing
He's f***ing hot I know
damn I’m torn, Pinocchio was good and this was good
I wouldn’t be mad if either one won

This movie smokes pinocchio imho
Nah man
The artistry in Pinocchio is amazing, but narratively and emotionally the film did not satisfy me as much as I had hoped. Still a pretty good movie tho.

https://twitter.com/ShrekHistory/status/1619080197529300992Making half-ass spin-offs
Was Donkey part of an old fairytale before the Shrek franchise? Like Puss in Boots been a character in fairytale history probably easier to spin-off
If they can make a Donkey movie work in in tho
