Finally watched the Kill Bill movies today, then watched some interviews afterwards.
At the time he was talking about a Kill Bill pt 3 set ~15 years later, focusing on the little girl seeking revenge for her mother. He's also mentioned putting Maya Hawke in it. That could be interesting, but I can't imagine his last movie is just be a 3rd Kill Bill movie.
Also, I didn't realize how obsessed he was with Uma, but she didn't seem to find it weird, so good for him I guess. Can't blame him TBH

If he ever does that it’ll probably be a miniseries like the ones he’s working on now. I think it would work better in that format anyway than as a film.
Yea they get more work afterwards, which is probably the point for a lot of them, but I think QT's point is more towards the fact that these movies typically are the peak for these actors starring in them
It doesn't matter what you've done before or after you've starred in a marvel movie, it doesn't matter how good of an actor you are, how many other meaningful movies you make, you'll never get that level of attention again as being in an mcu product. And look at those movies for what they are honestly, shlocky comic book movies with crap fvx, s*** writing and surface level meaning.
It feels cheap at this point. D level actors thinking they're super stars because they were in a marvel movie
And not to rag on anybody personally or to drag this out...Im just not over how people cant understand Quentins point. Mark ruffalo's a superstar bc hes a great actor with a cult of personality and range who picks great roles and works with great directors, not because hes the f***ing Hulk. Yall are reducing an actor whos worked with mann fincher and scorsese to a f***ing cgi green monster. Yall need to shut up and stop talking when the GOATs are speaking on the landscape of their craft

Ruffalo was a known actor before MCU
Same with ScarJo, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Rudd, etc
But we can still admit how much MCU has helped careers like Holland & Bautista
I agree with your last post tho
Even the new Captain America himself understands what QT is saying and has made this point.

now look at what their other movies are doing in comparison...
Pratt has the most popular movie on Amazon at one point
He wrote so much backstory for the characters in H8ful I would definitely be down for a prequel
JJL and Chaining Tatum prequel
$95 million budget, final cut privilege, "extraordinary creative controls", 25% of first-dollar gross, and the stipulation that the rights revert to him after 10 to 20 years.
⬆️
i wonder what the streaming or tv network equivalent of those terms would be, and who would agree with that
Netflix lol

Facts. he used around 50% of the s*** she said in real life during conversations as the dialogue for Kill Bill. Nigga basically asked to hang out with her so he could finish writing the script.

Yup. An actor named Craig Stark who does small roles in QT films said:
"In “D’jango Unchained”, “The Hateful Eight” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”, although my parts were small, there’s a whole back story to each of the characters I play which Q and I talked about. Quentin is director that’s actors love because of his love for actors."
So if the guy with the smallest role is getting a detailed backstory for his minor character, imagine the amount of detail thats put towards the main characters.
Halloween wouldn't get made today? :word:
You know what he means. It’s only made today as an established IP, not an original property.

There are still loads of indie horror movies coming out so that isn't true. Halloween was the same before it blew up.
I see his point about the rise of superhero movies/death of the action star but all that other s*** doesn't make sense.

https://twitter.com/nicholaspascar5/status/1595080642106212353That point of movies that won't get made today still rings true but at the same time has also slightly changed since he said it
Those movies would be made as straight to Netflix garbo

Ion think so. There’s been times when a plot didn’t sound too intriguing but I trust the actor or director and checked the film due to that

@twitch change thread title king, THE MOVIE CRITIC (10th film)
The Movie Critic is the name of the script that Tarantino wrote and is prepping to direct this fall, according to sources.
Logline details are being kept in a suitcase but sources describe the story as being set in late 1970s Los Angeles with a female lead at its center.
The project does not have a studio home; it could go out to studios or buyers as early as this week, according to sources
Filming this year, meaning probably 2024 drop
