I dont mean semi relevant, relevant to a niche, "only relevant to you", nor relevant for things outside of music (s/o Boosie), i mean relevant industry & genre wide as a music career.

Off the top of my head:

    2Pac - 8 months
    Lil Wayne - 8 months
    T.I. - 11 months
    Remy Ma - 6 years

Thats the only ones i can think of that came out of jail as big or even bigger than they went in jail on a culture wide size.

Remy Ma being the only one who was in jail for over a year. She was in jail for like 8 years but served 6 iirc, then came out with the Fat Joe collab album & the smash song All the Way Up.

Who else genuinely came back as strong or stronger in music. Bonus points if they were in jail for 2+ years, cuz i have a theory if you in jail for 2 to 3 years plus its basically a wrap in rap for the most part & only Remy is my outlier.

    • They had to have been in jail for at least 2 months tho, i dont wanna see no over night stay in jail bullshit from the big brains

    • Kodak got lucky serving half of his 3 years thanks to Trump and i'd say he is/was still relevant.

Boosie's still in the public eye, I'd say he's more relevant than Remy Ma despite it usually being for the worst reasons

doesn't really count though, its not like he was big before going in. he literally blew up behind bars, X was on the jail phone saying it himself

Drake destroyed Meek Mill but going to jail was the best thing to happen for Meek. He capitalized on that and became rap Colin Kaepernick
