Both 10/10 on first play through when they first came out. But I was able to go back to RDR2 a couple of years later and really enjoy a second run. Tried to play the Witcher 3 again when the PS5 update dropped and it felt so dated, couldn’t get into the gameplay again.
both are great but rd2's world feels more alive & organic
all the question marks on witcher's map makes me not wanna explore it
and the combat on controller feels like im playing QWOP idk how i beat this s*** 8 years ago
Rdr2 by a landslide
RDR2's movement, while not Mario-level dynamic and responsive, feels realistic and weighty, and I enjoy that a lot
The Witcher 3 just feels bad to move around in for me, on a basic level the traversal is unrewarding, so I quit early, RDR2 completely gripped me though
They're literally my two favorite RPG's.
RDR 2 aged better tho so I gotta go with it.
But both are amazing.
RDR as I never played Witcher 3
That being said, RDR has no replayability
i’m over here on my 3rd playthrough
why
I think I enjoyed the world setting and questlines more in Witcher. Great dialogue and side quests were fun too. And I thought the banter from Geralt was fun too. Faster gameplay compared to RDR 2 as well, which I find very slow and clunky. I havent played RDR2 since release but I dont feel any need to go back and replay it.
Still think RDR 2 is a great game tho and understand why most people would prefer it to Witcher 3.
I think I've tried witcher 3 like 4 times and have never gotten more than a few hours in, I just hate how it plays

Same except I only tried once maybe twice
typed a whole essay then i deleted it bc it doesn’t even matter rdr2 is just goated lol
like lowkey the only open world game worth playing in last few years is rdr2 and zelda and they’re opposite side of the spectrum
narrative focus of red dead is insane u get to see a great american cowboy movie and a f***ing d’angelo song is like in one of the most pivotal scenes
zelda is ultimate players choice game until something else comes along
elden ring looks phenomenal to the fromsoftware ppl and def S tier
witcher 3 already feels a decade old ngl
