so i’m on my like 6th watch of Breaking Bad and i’m about to get to the scene that inspired this thread idea
the scene that really f***ed me up is when hank gets shot and killed by uncle jacks crew while walt watches and is screaming for them not to do it. when hank says “walt you’re the smartest man i’ve ever known, but you’re too stupid to see he already made up his mind”, then the famous line hank says before he gets shot
i remember the first time seeing that, i was high as f*** and just sat there speechless. like literally my jaw dropped and i couldn’t speak for like 10 minutes. that moment really captured how far walt had gone, and how there really was no redemption, no point of return. in his pursuit of money, he destroyed not only his immediately family, but his extended as well. it was really over
there’s actually plenty of scenes in breaking bad that f*** me up, though
another one is when he’s on the phone with skyler while he’s on the run from the cops, and he has to call her a b\*\*\*\*, stupid and all that to protect her from being arrested. you could tell he really loved her still and it was killing him to talk to her like that, but he had to to protect her. s*** rugs at my heartstrings every time
breaking bad is really one of the best shows ever man
Leo in basketball diaries coming to his moms house for money and she wont let him in cause he's a full blown addict at this point.... so he curses her out and cries on one side of the door while his mom falls to the ground crying on the other side of the door
that scene F***ED 13 yr old me up
Wild Strawberries grappling with aging and mortality and other horrifying, existential subjects only to end on that sweet, intimate note at the end
When they cut open the turtle in Cannibal Holocaust. I watched the movie in February but sometimes I’m eating food and it’ll pop in my mind and I start gagging and can barely eat.
Friday night lights s04e05 the son. entire episode.
when your dad only care about sports and you only care about arts
Probably the whole episode where Locke attempts suicide and then gets murdered by Ben in Lost
Wild Strawberries grappling with aging and mortality and other horrifying, existential subjects only to end on that sweet, intimate note at the end
Underground hallway scene from Irreversible too. I still dunno how to feel about it. Was it cheap provocation? Or something more? Hard to say, but it unsurprisingly impacted me
Kinda cliche but Will Smith in Fresh Prince. The episode about his absent father hit home
