Sorry for sincereposting but it’s Friday night and I just left a wake. Post songs that mean the world to you. The ones that resonate the most. I’ll go

A lot of people, for good reason, prefer Daniel Johnston’s rougher stuff, and I do as well. But this song is the best of his well polished material. His song writing has never been the concise than it was on this song. Hits you deep. This specific performance is hard to watch personally. RIP to the god

This is the greatest song ever recorded and I will die on that hill. I’ve posted it a few times here before but if you’ve never heard this classic from (in my opinion) the best band ever, please listen to it. This is what happiness sounds like to me. There’s never a point when I don’t want to listen to this song, it has unlimited replay value.

Not much I can really say about this one. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It’s in many ways the perfect rap song. I discovered it at a very important time in my teenage years. What else is there to say? Free the wave.

I’m fully expecting this to get 11 posts, 4 of them just avi posts. My question? Who cares

This song is very meaningful to me and I don’t have a great reason for it, watching Taxi with my Dad was a bonding point as a kid and finding this song that sampled it by one of my favorite rap groups in high school was a revelation, it felt cool knowing the backstory to a song that was by most standards pretty obscure. That it’s a perfect song in terms of composition and sound is an added benefit

This rules. Souls of mischief is such a good group, I really need to go back and listen to them because it’s been so long. The 93 til infinity album was one that my friends never really got into but had so many plays from me when I was younger. Only one I’ve really listened to, though. Rec an album?

For some reason I felt the need to introduce my stepmom to Thug's music, so I used this one, so we bonded over B6 songs

This isn’t one of my most personal songs but still ..

I only wanted to have fun ...
Learning to fly learning to run
I let my heart decide the way
    When I was young ...

A lot of memories to this song. The only CD my boss ( a 68 year old man) liked was this one so we’d listen to it on repeat every day, 12 hours a day, 5 days a week for a year and a half. Sound of it makes me sick to my stomach

I’m not one to judge. I understand it’s all subjective and we build personal bonds with these songs that last lifetimes (hence the whole idea of this thread). BUT! Out of all Kanye songs these are top 2? Chill

Thanks man, I hope you’re good after the service. Had to attend one last month and it f***ed me up, this place isn’t great for support networks but if you need an outlet lets talk.

As far as recs, There Is Only Now is a pretty good followup that matches the sound of 93 Til, but none of the other albums really compare. They have some really unfortunate stuff from the mid2000s. Try the Heiro Oldies And 3rd Eye Vision compilation, those are good- but really that album got spins for a reason, its f***ing great
