I changed my mind about this album multiple times. 1 day I think this album is complete garbage. Another day I think I like it. I'm listening to this album right now and I have to say man, There some songs I really like. I really f*** with Fuchsia Butterflies, Handle with Care, Confused, Red Sabbath track, the self titled track, Embers, Edge of the Earth, Melting, and Trauma. I really love some of the ideas that Cudi gave on the album. Now don't get me wrong, there's some songs where I'm just sitting here like "this ain't it chief" lmaoooooo
I feel like this album was cursed from the fact that this came out at Cudi's darkest time in his life, and I think he felt the need to get off all of his feelings and emotions on this album and just send it to the fans who been there from the start or super heavy loyal fans. Sadly, he didn't take his time to focus on making the album more concise and smooth out the edges of the production.
At the end of the day, I don't blame anybody for thinking this album is terrible, because it's super messy, but it had some good ideas I could say.
which other Cudi album(s) do you not consider properly executed?
I enjoyed this album alot. Wasnt really on music twitter or KTT at the time so I wasnt aware of the widespread panning this album got.
Ive said since day one that it couldve been way better if he got help with the production instead of doing it all himself

Agreed, also I think the lyrics could little bit work, but nevertheless a very interesting album.

THIS S*** IS SOOOO WEAAAAAAK SOOOOO WEEEEEEAK
My favorite Cudi album and personally, one of the rawest and most authentic pieces of music I've heard this side of the post auto tune era. It was clear to me upon hearing this album that the alternative was indeed killing himself and as someone who has battled depression, hearing an artist be that vulnerable and honest about it and actually take the time to learn what he could to even Express’s himself in that way because he just had to makes it all the more special to me. The alternative was to kill himself but he didn’t wanna die, so he made an album. Special record .
homie could have hit a 10 track of this though and maybe dropped an expanded edition but he had to get these tracks off
f***ing love cudi lol
