It's really just reboot in the broader sense, not the kids audience. If there's a new content and it borrows an old IP that a whole generation already came to be familiar with wouldn't the marketing here was them going for both the nostalgia crowd and kids of today? It's cheap honestly

And we have loads of examples of reboots that have fumbled. People aren't wild if they think reboots are commonly a bad idea

I understand the general mindset of “reboot bad”. It’s trendy to not think about anything for a second and see there’s a reboot and start crying s***ting and farting.

In just the last year off the top I can think of Creed, The Batman, Top Gun, Evil Dead, etc etc etc all succeeded in box office and acclaim. Naturally studios see reboots succeeding and will sometimes make bad attempts. Doesn’t mean you need a diaper change every time there’s a headline like this. Original IPs suck more often than not, that’s just media nowadays
