the casting was excellent, as was the set design
the details in this were great too, the box with the vending machine prize was like the box in the frontman’s apartment which was basically the coffin things
would have loved to see how the frontman went from being a winner to the operations manager of the whole thing
annoyed me that he didn’t go be a father to his daughter at the end of the whole thing
incredibly frustrating tho the amount of ppl that have completely missed the point that it is also a criticism of capitalism in sk 💀
I mean I took it as a criticism of capitalism overall . I would have to look at how south Korea specifically differs though

https://twitter.com/hermit_hwarang/status/1446848977056456705I mean no one here was really looking at it apolitically or just a metaphor because we know capitalism views Lives as disposable based on if they fit certain criteria and are deemed worthy and we can help each other or watch each other die in hopes of winning the lottery , buying the right crypto , using a talent

i mean after a cursory glance at like twitter and stuff (i don’t rly use social media), just like parasite it did seem to go over a lot of ppl’s heads
not talking about this thread in particular

I don’t think it fully went over peoples heads so much as they don’t see a solution and feel helpless to change that so they rather be like “ this is how far I would make it “ rather than acknowledge they are in A squid game because “ our games aren’t that silly capitalism makes sense and is fair “
just finished ep 6
Emotionally f***ed the hell out of me. What an amazing episode.
Awesome. I did ask you how you would've liked the season to end based on your critique.

No specific plot line but
Like the way I see to escalate it is nearly like a gta with weapons , power ups and things placed on the map in isolated area
finally finished
it had its ups and downs. At its peak it was pretty intense and enjoyable. The ending was pretty obvious and a little dissatisfying though

I think that's what the next season will likely consist of. Curious on the GTA concept?

A city with a knife or gun with one bullet and only way to get to next round is eliminate a specific person . But ideally hopefully the challenges next season are less kill based. Think of the bet about the homeless man at the end . So essentially like they are recreating society with many test of character and wit

I'm excited regardless because they have so many lanes to explore that are already established and plenty to explore that haven't been like your idea

I mean exploration wise I’m open but am I afraid that like heroes and so many things before they will get caught up in people wanting season 1 favorites, old man explained too much , cop and front man story not worth a cliffhanger

I thought the cop's side story was one of the most compelling parts of the season and it gave us a glimpse into the guards and the hierarchy within their operation. His story created suspense instead of the show just explaining who and how the guards operated. You might feel differently once we get the 2nd season

Oh yeah he just needed more , the guards needed more and there was time on clock to do so that was a bit wasted on vip
